The dress code is for the safety of all children and adults dancing. We need to see your muscles and their movements. Please see the instructor if you have any questions.
General Guidelines
- ADA is proud to sell REVOLUTION DANCEWEAR attire and footwear
- please purchase at our boutique to ensure proper fit and color.
- NO COSTUMES PLEASE- they are meant for the stage, not for class use.
- Under the age of 6 tutu’s are permitted.
- Please label all footwear.
Hair
- Please have all hair if long enough in a bun with loose pieces secured.
- Braids (secured) are acceptable as are french twists.
- Again, this is for your safety. Please come prepared. “No bun no dance.”
Class Specific Guidelines
Creative Movement/Pre-Ballet/Ballet/Pointe:
- Any color leotard with classic pink tights. Convertible tights are preferred for those in pointe shoes. Full body tights may be used for grades 7th+
- Hair must be in bun.
- Classic pink slippers in full sole, canvas, or stretch as dictated by age for girls.
- Please do not come in a costume; tutus are acceptable for 6 year-olds and under.
- Boys- white shirt with black bottoms and black slippers.
Modern/Character/Contemporary/Lyrical
- Any color leotard with tights rolled up, yoga pants or jazz pants. No sweatpants.
- Hair in a braid or bun.
- Boys- any color shirt with jazz pants, or athletic shorts.
- Character shoes for character, toe thongs for contemporary/lyrical, barefoot for modern.
Jazz
- Leotards, jazz pants, yoga pants, form fitting tees and jazz shoes are acceptable. Please no exposed bellies.
- Hair in a braid or bun.
- Boys- any color shirt with jazz pants, or athletic shorts.
- Black jazz shoes.
Hip Hop
- Leotards, jazz pants, yoga pants, athletic shorts, tees, dance sneakers are all acceptable.
- No baggy sweats or street clothing.
- Hair in a braid or bun.
- Boys may wear sweats, short and tee shirts.
Tap
- Leotards, jazz pants, yoga pants, form fitting tees and tap shoes are acceptable.
- Hair in a braid or bun.
- Boys may wear sweats, short and tee shirts.
